Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Train On Jersey Shore

A pedestrian died after being struck by a New Jersey Transit train, authorities said.

At approximately 8:57 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, North Jersey Coast Line train 4334 struck and fatally injured a pedestrian in the vicinity of Roseld Avenue in Deal, a NJ Transit spokesman said.

That's between the Allenhurst and Elberon stations.

The train departed Bay Head at 8:27 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Long Branch at 9:07 a.m.

There were no injuries reported to the approximately 100 customers or crew on board, the spokesman said.

Trains 4334 and 4323 were canceled due to incident.

New Jersey Transit Police were on scene leading the investigation.
